A crew of coding agents,
on all your Macs.
byre runs Claude Code, Codex, Antigravity and Grok Build side by side on one Mac, each on its own branch and worktree, with a lead agent that watches them all and tells you what needs you. Pick up from whichever Mac you're at.
Download for macOSAlways on, wherever you are
Your crew lives on one Mac that never sleeps. You drop in from whichever of yours is closest.
One server, every Mac
The agents run on one Mac that stays on, such as a Mac mini in a closet. Open byre on your laptop, your desk Mac, or all of them at once: each shows the same tasks, questions and transcripts live. Close the laptop and the agents keep working.
- In sync to the second Answer a question on the laptop and it's gone from the iMac before you turn around.
- Clock out, they don't The crew lives on the server, so go home and come back to finished work.
- From anywhere byre talks over Tailscale, so the closet Mac is one click from the coffee shop.
Every server, every project
One server or five, every project shows up in one window, color-coded, on every Mac on your iCloud account.
- New Mac, no setup Your servers are waiting on first launch, with nothing to type in.
- Hop between them A picker or a shortcut flips servers and projects without opening another window.
- Know where you are Each server wears its own color, so a glance tells you which one you're on.
byre for iPhone coming soon
Your crew in your pocket. Answer questions, start tasks and merge from your phone, with notifications that find you anywhere.
- Notifications anywhere Encrypted between your server and your phone, so what they say stays yours.
- Press and speak The Action button sends whatever you say straight to your lead.
- A glance at the icon The badge counts the tasks waiting on you.
A crew, with a lead
Give every idea its own agent. One more keeps track of them all, and only taps your shoulder when it matters.
Tasks
Start one for every idea. Each gets its own branch and worktree, so ten agents never step on each other, and you can chime in while it works.
- Any agent you like Claude Code, Codex, Antigravity or Grok Build, with the model and effort picked per task.
- Interrupt politely Send a note mid-turn and the agent folds it in without starting over, or pause it after its current step and let it carry on when you're ready.
- Shell included Open terminals in the task's worktree, and save the commands you run often.
Lead agent
One agent watches every task, points you at what needs you, and starts, merges or discards tasks when you ask. It's a capable assistant in its own right, too.
- The short version Ask what happened while you were out and get it task by task, in a few lines.
- Learns how you work It keeps notes on your preferences and steers every agent by them.
- Just say it "Merge website and start a dark-mode task" is a whole request, not a to-do list.
Questions, not interruptions
When an agent, or your lead, needs a decision, it lays out the options and recommends one. A notification brings you straight to it; pick an answer and the agent carries on. Every option says what you get and what you give up, so the call takes seconds.
- Seconds, not meetings The trade-offs are spelled out, so you can decide between sips of coffee.
- Opinionated The agent marks the option it would take, so agreeing is a single click.
- Wherever you are The notification finds you on whichever Mac you're using.
Teams and workflows
Big jobs get split up. An agent hands pieces to helpers, or a team builds one change together. Save the pipeline as a workflow and run it again any time.
- The right agent for each part Give every stage its own vendor and model.
- Drawn, not written Lay out stages in the app's workflow editor; there's no config file to write.
- Back together Parallel stages meet at a final stage that sees all of their work.
They really do things for you
Agents don't stop at writing code. They see and click through real apps, carry a browser that moves between the server and your screen, and sign in with your logins, so the job actually gets done.
Hands on your Macs
Agents don't just say it works, they check. They see the screen and click through what they built, on any Mac running byre, before calling it done.
- The real thing They type into, click and scroll the actual app, not a mock of it.
- Proof you can see Every screen they looked at waits in the task's Captures tab.
- Even while it sleeps byre wakes the server's display when an agent needs to look.
A browser that changes hands
Agents get a real web browser on the server, working in the background without touching your screen. When a site needs you, the tab moves to your Page view with its session intact; sign in, and hand it back.
- Out of your way Agents browse on the server, so your mouse and screen stay yours.
- You sign in once Log in on your own screen and the agent carries on as you.
- Survives restarts Tabs keep their cookies and storage through a restart.
Sign-ins handled
Link your Dashlane vault once, and agents sign in with your saved logins, two-factor codes included, instead of stopping to ask.
- Linked in byre Connect the vault from the Server tab, with nothing to paste from a terminal.
- Found by site Logins match the way Dashlane's autofill does, so a subdomain finds its parent's login.
- Read only Agents look logins up; they never change your vault.
Easy to keep up with
Ten agents at once shouldn't feel like ten browser tabs. byre shows you what changed, what they made and what's next, in one calm window.
Room to focus
Two panes, side by side: your lead on the left, one task on the right. No sidebars, no toolbars, no maze of panels. Diffs, files and terminals slide in when you ask for them and slide away when you're done.
- Nothing to arrange No panels to drag or resize: the same layout on a laptop and a 6K display.
- Peek, then back Pull up a diff over the lead, take a look, and click the strip beside it to put it away.
- ⌘K to anywhere Type a few letters to jump to any task in any project.
See what they built
Mockups, previews, PDFs and images open right next to the conversation, in tabs you can flip between.
- No browser shuffle Nothing lands in a stray browser window; it stays with the task that made it.
- Pick a favorite Ask for three takes on a design and choose with all of them in front of you.
- A real browser Back and forward, an address bar, find, zoom, downloads, full screen and Export PDF, all inside the tab.
Diagrams, not walls of text
Agents explain a design with a real diagram, drawn right in the conversation. Zoom in, and click a box to trace what it touches.
- Big picture first Get the shape of a change before you read a line of it.
- Layers deep A box can open into a diagram of its own, so a big system stays readable at every level.
- Guided tours Agents name highlights like "Query path" that light up one flow at a time.
A to-do list that does itself
The TODO.md in your repo comes alive in byre. One click turns an item into a working agent, a conversation, or a finished job, and agents add what they didn't get to as they wrap up.
- Every project at once ⌘D lists the open items of every project in one place.
- Nothing slips Follow-ups an agent didn't get to are one tick away from the list.
- Lives in your repo It's a plain TODO.md, so it travels with your code.
Proven before it lands
Every change is kept and checked by a second model, then lands on your default branch in one click.
Snapshots and forks
Step through a task's snapshots, diff any of them, and fork a new task from any one, conversation included.
- Nothing lost Every turn that changes files leaves a snapshot, so no step is ever overwritten.
- Compare anything Line a snapshot up against the one before it, or against the default branch.
- What if? Curious how another approach would have gone? Branch off an earlier point and try it.
Reviews
Every change gets a second opinion. Reviewers check each turn's work; the agent fixes what holds up, explains what it skips, and you can overrule it with a click.
- Mix your models Have Codex check Claude Code's work, or the other way around.
- Argued, not obeyed The agent pushes back on findings it thinks are wrong, and shows its reasoning.
- You break ties Side with the reviewer and the fix is underway.
One-click merge
Click Merge and you're done: the agent sorts out any conflicts, and the whole task lands as one clean commit.
- History you can read Five turns of back-and-forth become a single change with a real title.
- Land it and keep going Merge the work so far and carry on in the same task.
- A short list Merged tasks close themselves, so only live work stays in view.
Keeps going without you
Lunch, a weekend, a packed week of meetings: the work doesn't wait for you, and it never leans on just one subscription.
Step away, they keep going
Flip on Away and agents stop waiting on you: each one makes its best call and keeps working. Back at your desk? Answer any question they asked, and byre forks the task from that moment with your answer.
- Lunch, not a standstill Come back to an hour of progress instead of a pile of questions.
- Second thoughts welcome If you'd have chosen differently, the fork picks up from exactly where the agent chose.
- No guessing on secrets Passwords, permissions and test results still wait for you.
No subscription left idle
byre watches how much of each vendor's limit you've used and starts new tasks on whichever model has the most room, so hitting one limit never stalls the crew.
- Your shortlist Approve the models you trust, and byre picks among only those.
- Spent before it resets A limit that resets tonight gets used before one that resets next week.
- Workflows too Give a workflow a "most headroom" step, and that stage runs on whichever of its models has the most room.
Work that starts itself
Schedule the chores: a dependency bump every Monday, a test sweep every night. And the newest work on your default branch gets audited in the background, without a word from byre unless it finds something.
- On the clock Hourly, daily, on the weekdays you pick, or monthly, with one agent or a whole workflow.
- Bring your own auditor Any workflow can be the audit: a security pass, a docs check, whatever you care about. A random step hands each run to a different model, so the findings come from many eyes.
- Only the findings An audit with nothing to report puts itself away.
More than code
Your lead is a capable assistant in its own right, and every task agent shares its kit: your calls, a public address on the web, and a sketchbook.
Every call, transcribed
Choose Byre as the microphone and speaker in any video call. When you hang up, your lead has the whole conversation, ready to tell you what was decided or turn it into tasks.
- Nobody takes notes Stay in the conversation; byre catches every word, yours and theirs.
- Ask what you missed Which option won, what's due next, what was that date again: your lead knows.
- Any call app If it lets you choose a microphone and speaker, it works, and byre bridges the call to your own headset.
Show the world
Put anything running on the server, or a folder of files, on the public web at its own address. Share a demo without deploying a thing.
- A port or a folder Publish a live app or a directory of static files.
- Just ask Any agent can publish its work, or take it down, when you tell it to.
- Nothing to host Each one gets its own HTTPS address, with no hosting, DNS or certificates to sort out.
A sketchbook, too
Your lead and every task agent can draw: an icon for the app, art for a blog post, a card for a friend. Ask in plain words, and keep asking until it's right.
- Right in the chat Each image shows inline, ready to zoom.
- Edit, don't redo Hand an agent an image and ask for changes.
- Work or play A logo for the launch or a card for a birthday, it's the same ask.
